2) Terms of Use

2.1 General

The website yadelkana.org.il (“the website”) is operated by the Yad Elkanah Foundation.
By using the website, you fully agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

2.2 Permitted Use

  • The site may only be used for personal, lawful, and non-commercial purposes.
  • The site may not be used for illegal, harmful, or disruptive intentions.
  • Uploading offensive content, spam, or irrelevant information is prohibited.

2.3 Intellectual Property

All content on the site — including text, images, videos, logos, code, and other materials — is protected by copyright laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, or publish any content without prior written consent from the Yad Elkanah Foundation.

2.4 Limitation of Liability

The website is provided “As Is”. Errors, omissions, or inaccuracies may occur.
The foundation shall not be held liable for any damages resulting from the use of the site.

2.5 Changes

The foundation reserves the right to update the website, modify the terms of use, or disable the site at any time, without prior notice.

2.6 Governing Law

These terms are governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Israel.
Jurisdiction shall be vested in the courts of the Jerusalem district.

3) Privacy Policy

The Yad Elkana association (registered non-profit no. 580788719) respects the privacy of visitors to this website and acts in accordance with the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, including Amendment 13. This document describes exactly what information is collected on this website, why, and who receives it.

3.1 Who is responsible for the information

Yad Elkana, 1001 Yoni Netanyahu Street, Kiryat Arba 9010000, Israel.
Email: elkanasfez@gmail.com · Phone: +972-54-558-5156

3.2 What information is collected

  • Contact form: name, email address, subject and message. The website does not ask for a phone number or a home address.
  • Server logs: as is standard, the hosting company keeps a record of requests to the server (IP address, browser type and time of the request), for security and operations only.
  • Limiting repeated submissions: when the form is sent, the IP address is used momentarily to prevent automated mass submissions. It is not stored and is not passed on to anyone.
  • Meta pixel — only if you agreed: if you accepted in the banner, a Meta (Facebook) pixel is loaded and reports your visit to Meta. It sets cookies on your device and sends Meta your IP address, the address of the page you visited and your browser details. Its only purpose is to measure how well the association's advertising works. If you did not accept, none of this is loaded.

Apart from that, this website runs no analytics or statistics tools and builds no profile of its visitors.

3.3 Whether you have to provide the information

You are under no legal obligation to provide any information. Filling in the contact form is entirely voluntary. The fields marked with an asterisk are needed only so that we can reply to you; the form cannot be sent without them, but you can always reach us by phone or email instead.

3.4 What the information is used for

  • Replying to the message you sent us, and for that purpose only.
  • Keeping the website secure and working.

We will not send you newsletters, updates or donation appeals on the basis of a contact form message, unless you have expressly asked us to.

3.5 Donations

Donations are not processed on this website. The donation button takes you to a secure payment page operated by Sumit. Your payment details are given directly to Sumit; they do not pass through this website and are not stored on it. The association receives from Sumit the details needed to issue a receipt and keeps them as required by law.

3.6 Who receives the information

  • Google (Gmail): contact form messages arrive in the association's Gmail mailbox. Google's servers are also located outside Israel.
  • o2switch: the website's hosting company, whose servers are in France.
  • Sumit: donation processing, as described above.
  • Meta Platforms: only if you accepted the pixel. Meta's servers are outside Israel, including in the United States and the European Union.

We do not sell information and do not pass it to any other third party, unless required to by law.

3.7 How long the information is kept

Messages received through the contact form are kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry, and for no more than 24 months. Server logs are kept by the hosting company for a short period, under its own policy.

3.8 Cookies, consent and external content

By default this website stores nothing on your device. Fonts and images are served by the website itself. YouTube videos are shown as a still image only: nothing is loaded from YouTube until you click the video. Clicking starts the YouTube player within the site, in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and from then on Google's privacy policy applies.

On your first visit a banner asks for your consent to the Meta pixel. The two buttons — accept and decline — are identical in shape and size, and the website works in full either way. Before you accept, nothing is loaded from Meta and no cookie is set.

  • The consent preference itself is kept in your browser (local storage, key yadelkana-consentement) and is never sent to the server. It contains no identifier and cannot be used to recognise you.
  • After you accept, the pixel sets Meta cookies on your device, including _fbp, for up to three months.
  • You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the foot of every page: it erases the preference and asks again.

3.9 Security

Communication with the website is encrypted (HTTPS), access to the website's systems is restricted to authorised people, and the website holds no database of visitor details. No system on the internet is completely secure, however.

3.10 Your rights

You have the right to see the information held about you, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To do so, write to elkanasfez@gmail.com; we will reply within 30 days. If you believe your rights have been infringed, you may also contact the Privacy Protection Authority at the Israeli Ministry of Justice.

3.11 Automated decision-making

This website makes no automated decisions about its visitors.

4) Accessibility Statement

The Yad Elkana association attaches great importance to serving all visitors equally, and works to make this website accessible to people with disabilities, in accordance with the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law, 5758-1998, its accessibility regulations, and Israeli Standard IS 5568 at level AA.

4.1 Accessibility measures in place

  • Full keyboard navigation, a clearly visible focus indicator, and a “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
  • Semantic page structure: a single main heading per page, an unbroken heading hierarchy and defined navigation landmarks.
  • Alternative text for images, in the website's three languages.
  • Colour contrast that meets the standard, including text placed over a photograph — there the contrast was measured on the pixels themselves, not on the background colour alone.
  • Labelled form fields, marked required fields, and error messages written by the website in the language of the page, marked on the field itself and announced to screen readers.
  • A link that leaves the website or opens in a new window carries a visible icon, not only text for screen readers.
  • Closing the menu with the Escape key returns focus to the button that opened it.
  • The video carousel can be paused with a button, pauses on mouse hover or keyboard focus, and does not move at all for visitors who have set “reduce motion” on their device.
  • The full-screen photo viewer closes with the Escape key, is navigated with the arrow keys, and returns focus to the photo that was selected.
  • Full right-to-left support, and the correct language declared on every page.

4.2 Known limitations

  • The testimonial videos and the association’s film do not yet have captions; they are being prepared. In the meantime, you can contact us to receive a transcript. The YouTube videos have subtitles embedded in the picture. The videos have no audio description.
  • The website has been checked with an automated audit and by hand in the Chrome browser. It has not yet been examined by a licensed accessibility consultant, nor systematically tested with screen readers.
  • The Sumit payment page and the YouTube channel are external websites outside the association's control; their accessibility is the responsibility of their operators.

4.3 Physical accessibility

This statement concerns the website. The association does not receive the public at its offices — its work takes place in the field. To ask about the accessibility arrangements of a particular activity or event, please contact us by phone or email below.

4.4 Contact us about accessibility
